Ultrafast deformation of geometrical structure of CO2 in an intense laser
field (1.1 PW/cm2) was investigated by momentum imaging of the fragment
ions produced from the Coulomb explosion processes. The observed large
mean-amplitude along the O-C-O bond angle (~ 40 deg was attributed to the
ultrafast bending motion induced on the light-dressed potential energy
surfaces.
