Triple-differential cross-section (TDCS) of the electron impact
ionization of the laser-oriented sodium atoms $3P_{3/2}$, $m_f=\pm3$
is calculated using the distorted wave 1st Born approximation
(DWBA). In contrast to earlier calculations$^{1,2}$ no account is
taken of the interelectron interaction in the two-electron
continuum. However, both the projectile and the ejected electron are
distorted by the atomic (ionic) core. Good agreement is found with
experiment at incident energies of 150 and 90~eV
