EXPERIMENTAL BENCHMARK OF THE RELATIVE EXCITATION CROSS SECTIONS OF THE= 2p-3d RESONANCE AND INTERCOMBINATION TRANSITIONS IN NEON-LIKE IONS G. V. Brown, P. Beiersdorfer, D. A. Liedahl, K. J. Reed, S. We measured the relative electron-impact excitation cross sections for the= resonance and intercombination transitions from neon-like ions between= Cr$^{14+}$ and Kr$^{26+}$. Systematic discrepancies with distorted-wave= calculations are found that indicate the conundrum facing theory when= computing the excitation cross section of triplet and singlet lines in the= cross over region between LS and jj coupling.
