`CLOSED DISSOCIATIVE CHANNEL' EFFECT ON THE DISSOCIATIVE EXCITATION AND BRANCHING IN THE DISSOCIATIVE RECOMBINATION OF H$_2^+$ Hidekazu Takagi Physics Laboratory, School of medicine, Kitasato University The importance of the `closed dissociative channel' (CDC) is stressed on the dissociative recombination (DR) and dissociative excitation (DE). Result of calculation based on the multichannel quantum defect theory including CDC is shown for H$_2^+$. The DE cross section sensitively depends on initial vibrational state. The principal quantum number distribution of the fragment atom in the DR is also shown.
