Stability and decay of charged clusters depend on the charge state and the
internal energy of the system. Above a critical charge infinitesimal small
quadrupole fluctuations cause fragmentation of the charged cluster. We
present new experimental data on Coulomb instabilities, resulting fragment
distributions and the corresponding fragment kinetic energies.
