INNERVALENCE SHELL SATELLITES ABOVE THE Ar2+ THRESHOLD: EXCITATION AND DECAY Francoise Combet Farnoux Laboratoire de Photophysique Moleculaire- Batiment 213-Universite Paris-Sud 91405 ORSAY (France) Both identification and Auger decay intensity of the major higher energy satel- lites of argon (above 47eV) can be obtained from C.I. calculations in the ionic final states 3s23p5 and 3s3p6 provided the interaction between singly-excited configurations and doubly-excited ones is taken into account, but in order to account for their intensity, simultaneous C.I.calculations in the initial state 3s23p6 including both singly and doubly-excited corresponding configurations are necessary.
