We have studied the Kr(3d-1) Auger spectra using threshold photoelectron /
Auger electron coincidences spectroscopy.
This technique present many advantages: it has a high efficiency, it
allows filtering of Auger lines with respect to the initial inner-shell
vacancy, it eliminates the broadening of Auger and photo-electron lines due
to PCI and will allow sub-natural linewidth Auger spectroscopy with high
resolution VUV monochromators and Auger electron spectrometers.
Such technique appears very promising in desentangling complicated Auger
spectra and assigning weak transitions.
