Kikiani$^{+} $^{*}$Nagoya Institute of Technology, Gokiso, Showa-ku, Nagoya 466-8555, Japan $^{#}$Niigata University, Ikarashi, Niigata 950-2181, Japan $^{+}$Tbilisi State University, Chavchavadze, Tbilisi, 380028, Georgia Doubly differential cross sections in K$^{+}$-Ne collisions have been measured at laboratory energies 500≦E$_{lab}$≦2000 eV by means of differential energy-transfer spectroscopy, and ab initio potentials have also been calculated. Information on the excitation mechanisms in the collisions has been obtained from analyses of the experiments and the calculations.
