LOW-ENERGY ELECTRON SPECTROSCOPY OF CONDENSED MAGNESIUM ATOMS M.M.Erdevdy, O.B.Shpenik, V.M.Feyer, T.Yu.Popik Institute of Electron Physics, 294016 Uzhgorod, Ukraine Using the electron backscattering spectrometer the elastic and inelastic scattering of slow (0-5 eV) monoenergetic (W=20 meV) electrons by the condensed magnesium atoms deposited onto the various substrates has been studied. A distinct oscillation structure due to the electron diffraction has been observed.
