MULTICHARGED ION IMPACT ON INSULATING LiF -  
CONTRIBUTIONS FROM POTENTIAL AND KINETIC ELECTRON EMISSION

We have studied the number statistics of emitted electrons in
coincidence with the projectile scattering angle distribution for
multiply charged slow Arq+ ions (q * 9) scattered off a LiF(100) surface
at grazing incidence. A comparison of the electron multiplicity
distributions for different exit angles of the projectile permits a
clear separation of potential and kinetic electron emission.
