DOUBLY EXCITED STATES OF MOLECULAR NITROGEN AS STUDIED BY COINCIDENT ELECTRON-ENERGY-LOSS SPECTROSCOPY Takeshi Odagiri, Kazuhiro Yoshikawa, Noriyuki Kouchi and Yoshihiko Hatano Dept. of Chemistry, Tokyo Institute of Technology, Meguro-ku, Tokyo 152-8551, Japan The coincident and ordinary electron-energy-loss spectra of N$_2$ have been measured in the energy loss range of doubly excited states at an incident energy of 80eV and a scattering angle of 2\degree. The ordinary spectrum shows rich structures in the energy loss range of 20--35eV. The intensity ratio of the coincident spectrum to the ordinary one gives the branching ratio of N$^{\ast}$ formation from the doubly excited states.
