Salzborn$^\ast$ $^\ast$Institut f"ur Kernphysik, Justus-Liebig-Universit"at Giessen, D-35392 Giessen, Germany $^\sharp$ Department of Physics, Auburn University, Auburn, AL 36849, USA Employing the crossed-beams technique, absolute cross sections for electron impact ionization of Al^{q+} in charge states q=1-7 (single ionization), q=1-3 (double ionization) and q=1-3 (triple ionization) have been measured for energies from threshold up to 1 keV partly to 6.5 keV. Using our high resolution energy scan technique we resolved fine autoionization resonances for Al^{2+} caused by electron capture with simultanous excitation of a 2p electron.
