Hosaka National Institute for Fusion Science, Toki, Gifu 509-5292, Japan We have made classical trajectory Monte Carlo calculations for total electron capture cross sections in collisions of slow, highly charged ions with atomic hydrogen and alkali-metal targets. We discuss the dependence of the integral cross sections on the initial charge states and target species.
