R-MATRIX CALCULATION OF ELASTIC ELECTRON-MAGNESIUM SCATTERING

We use the R-matrix  with pseudo-states in 19-state close-coupling approximation with expansion
included the 13 physical target states and 6 pseudo-states for the calculation of electron-impact excitation
integral cross section in neutral Mg. It was obtained the excelent agreement with existing absolute
measurements of total cross sections, including the position of two peaks which we interpretate as the p-
and d-shape resonances.
