THE AMPLITUDE OF TRANSFER-IONIZATION IN FAST ATOMIC COLLISIONS. S. Tolmanov, A. Godunov and J.H. McGuire. Tulane University, New Orleans, LA 70118, USA The e-e Thomas amplitude for the collision $p+He\to H+He^{2+}+e$ calculated numerically for the first time. We find that previousely used peaking approximations lead to large quantative errors. We also find that the Thomas peak shifted from the position predicted classicaly and we explain this shift. We find that the exchange and direct amplitudes are the same in the relatively high energy limit.
