Gravielle$^\ast$ Instituto de Astronomia y Fisica del Espacio, C.C. 67, Suc. 28, 1428 Buenos Aires, Argentina $^\ast$Also at Departamento de Fisica, FCEyN, Universidad de Buenos Aires We derive a scaling rule from the eikonal impulse approximation for capture from the K-shell of atoms by protons and alpha particles in the intermediate- and high- energy ranges. The proposed scaling let us gather the data corresponding to different targets on a thin universal band. Although this rule is obtained from a particular approximation, a large variety of other theoretical methods and experimental results verify it.
