SCALING RULE FOR K-SHELL CAPTURE BY H+ AND He++ FROM ATOMS

We derive  a  scaling rule from the eikonal impulse approximation
for capture from  the  K-shell  of  atoms  by  protons  and alpha
particles in the intermediate-  and  high-  energy  ranges.   The
proposed  scaling  let  us  gather   the  data  corresponding  to
different targets on a thin universal band.  Although this rule is
obtained  from  a  particular approximation, a large  variety  of
other theoretical methods and experimental results verify it.
