AB INITIO EXCITATION CROSS SECTIONS FOR LOW-ENERGY H+Na,He COLLISIONS A. K. Belyaev$^{\bullet}$, D. Egorova$^{\star}$, J. Grosser$^{\star}$, T. Menzel$^{\star}$ $^{\bullet}$ Department of Theoretical Physics, Pedagogical University of Russia, St. Petersburg, Russia \\ $^{\star}$ Institut f"ur Atom- und Molek"ulphysik, Universit"at Hannover, Germany The quantum mechanical treatment of the excitation processes in low-energy collisions of hydrogen atoms with sodium and helium atoms is performed and reported. The adiabatic potentials, the radial and the rotational nonadiabatic couplings are calculated by the ab initio quantum chemical method. The cross sections are obtained from numerical solutions of the coupled channel equations, which include the electron translation effects.
