MULTIFRAGMENTATION OF C  CLUSTERS FOLLOWING ELECTRONIC EXCITATION INDUCED
BY HIGH VELOCITY ATOMIC IMPACT

Fragmentation of excited C  clusters following electronic excitation by a
2.6 a.u helium atom has been studied. It is found that for n=3D3,4,5 the
fragmentation into three fragments is the dominant dissociative process
whereas fragmentation into four pieces or more is also large for n=3D4,5.
