The anisotropy of the photoelectrons and subsequent emission photons
arising in the decay of the nd9(5/2) (n+2)p atomic resonances in Kr and
Xe were studied. The alignment parameters, A20, of the Kr II and Xe II
residual ions corresponding to the final states in the autoionization
decay of the resonance were measured and calculated.
