INNER-SHELL PHOTOABSORPTION OF Kr, Rb and Xe ATOMS.

K-shell photoabsorption spectra of Kr and Rb, and L3-shell absorption
spectra of Xe were measured using synchrotron radiation. To describe the
near-edge fine structure the single- and double-electron
excitation/ionization cross sections were calculated using the
relativistic Pauli-Fock approximation. The monopole rearrangement of
electron shells and the effect of the polarization of the atomic core by
an exciting electron were taken into account.
