ELECTRIC-FIELD-INDUCED PREDISSOCIATION OF MOLECULAR RYDBERG STATES STUDIED BY THE TWO-COLOR RESONANT FOUR-WAVE MIXING SPECTROSCOPY Tohru Kobayashi, Geng Jihong, Yukari Matsuo, and Michio Takami The Institute of Physical and Chemical Research (RIKEN), Wako, Saitama, 351-1098 Japan Electric-field-induced predissociation of the nf (n=7-9) Rydberg states of NO has been observed in the two-color resonant four-wave mixing (TC-FWM) spectra. No electric-field effect has been observed for the 6f states, which suggests the interacting dissociative state to be the I(2S+) state converging to the N(2D)+O(3P) dissociation limit.
