BINARY ENCOUNTER OF GROUND STATE, AND LASER EXCITED STATES OF LITIUM

     This experiment examines double differential cross sections for
binary encounter with atoms of Li in ground and excited states.  The
excited states are prepared using polarized diode lasers.  The excited
states can be aligned along the ion beam, and the structure of the BE peak
can used as a method to test the impulse approximation.
