OBSERVATION OF NEUTRAL DOUBLY EXCITED STATES IN THE N2+ 2su PARTIAL
CROSS SECTION IN AN (e,2e) EXPERIMENT

        The partial ionisation cross-section of the N2+  2su-1 state has
been
measured in an asymmetric (e,2e) experiment at 1000 eV incident energy.
The cross-section shows some features that we have interpreted as the
autoionisation of N2 neutral doubly excited states to the 2su-1
continuum competing with direct ionisation.
