Direct and indirect ionization processes in 
lithium-like ions have been
investigated using the R-matrix method. 
The direct ionization (DI), excitation-autoionization (EA),
resonant excitation double-autoionization (REDA) and 
resonant excitation auto-double-ionization (READI) are treated in
an unified way. The total ionization cross sections are calculated and
compared with other theory and experimental measurement where available.
