Current Research Projects
In the last decade, the field of Atomic, molecular, and optical (AMO)
science has made significant advances and researchers in AMO science
have been awarded of Nobel Prize in Physics in three out of the last ten years,
and once in Chemistry [Cool and trap atoms with laser light (1997), chemical
reactions using femtosecond spectroscopy (1999)CBose-Einstein condensation
in dilute gases of alkali atoms (2001), optical frequency comb technique (2005).].
The objective of my research is to advance fundamental understanding of the
structure and dynamics as well as the control of quantum many body systems
in this exciting AMO field. My research is focused on two areas in the field:
The first is the study of atoms and molecules under the influence of
ultrashort and superintense laser pulses. The second is the manipulation of
atomic Bose-Einstein condensates. The detailed descriptions are following:
Molecule like modes in doubly exicted states of He: We try to probe these modes by using atto-second pulses.
